Schneider Electric has launched a podcast called The Drive to Net Zero, which addresses what needs to be done to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles to support the country going green.

Episodes are planned to be released every month, with the series concluding when the UN’s climate change conference, COP 26, starts in Glasgow this November – you can listen and subscribe on platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

In the first episode guest Alex Sobel, MP, also the Chairman of the Net Zero All Party Parliamentary Group (NZAPPG), says:

“We just had the global climate ambitions summit and the UK was at the leading edge of that. But there are countries in the EU that are going further and faster than us. But in terms of ambition, we are at the leading edge. What concerns me is that our targets are in the right place, but it’s the delivery that’s the problem. We’re going to miss our targets unless we significantly up our game in so many areas.”

Hosted by Seth Townsley, energy marketing manager at Schneider Electric, the podcasts will be recorded monthly in the run up to the COP-26 conference in Glasgow this November.

Seth Townsley said:

“The UK has set a national target to reduce all greenhouse emissions to net zero by 2050, requiring rapid decarbonisation across all sectors – including mobility and transport. With the UK hosting the COP-26 climate change conference in Glasgow this November, it’s crucial that the UK demonstrates its climate leadership and our move towards electric transport is kicked up a gear.”

“Our team at Schneider Electric is passionate about driving energy efficiency and new technology that helps organisations reduce their carbon footprint. I can’t wait to record more episodes and get to the heart of the debate, so our listeners feel more informed about the EV transition and wider national drive to net zero.”
