The University of Oxford has been named as the most sustainable university in the UK by the 2020 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, and is in second place globally, behind the Netherlands’ Wageningen
Two other UK universities made the top 10 of the global list – University of Nottingham (3rd) and Nottingham Trent University (4th).
To take part, universities provide data on a number of sustainability criteria and the UI GreenMetric uses six indicators to rank the universities: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation and education.
