DIGITAL FESTIVAL: SOLAR

In November, elemental is hosting a series of digital events focusing on solar innovation.

The rise of energy prices, and energy insecurity means that there has never been more interest in solar power. With payback periods for domestic solar PV expected to drop to just four years*, the advantages for households, as well as buildings such as schools and leisure centres are clear.

The elemental Solar Innovation digital festival will offer a series of virtual panel discussions on solar energy for both new and existing buildings, covering funding for public sector projects, community energy schemes and some of the product and system innovations on offer to specifiers.

*Analysis from Carbon Brief suggests the payback period for a £4,300 rooftop solar system, with a power capacity of 3kW, has dropped from 16.7 years in October 2020 to 11.1 years under the current price cap and just 4.1 years by April 2023.

The festival runs from 15th to 17th November on our Crowdcast channel, and registration to all sessions is free.

Solar PV’s role in decarbonising housing – 10am, 15th November
