DIGITAL FESTIVAL: Making Buildings Smarter

In November, elemental will be hosting a series of events focused on smart technology, in our Making Buildings Smarter digital festival.

Smart technology can help deliver low-carbon buildings, while also making them more comfortable and affordable for the occupants. The elemental Making Buildings Smarter digital festival will offer strategies and solutions to implement energy-saving technologies in a variety of settings, so that a building’s performance can be accurately measured and improved.

It will run from 1st to 3rd November on our Crowdcast channel, and registration to all sessions is free.

How digital twin technology can help decarbonise buildings – 1pm, 1st November

Digital twins can be used to optimise buildings’ performance and reduce energy use. This session will look at how the technology can deliver real benefits to building owners and managers, with practical examples from a variety of settings.

Improving resident safety and engagement with smart tech – 1pm, 2nd November

Smart tech has the ability to facilitate and enhance the relationship between social landlord and tenant, while improving safety, comfort and affordability. This session will look at some of the potential applications of smart tech within social housing, with practical examples.

The future’s smart: what next for building controls? – 10am, 3rd November

Smart controls – and building management systems – offer improved comfort for occupants, accurate data, easy-to-use functionality and, of course, reduce operating costs and energy use. This session will look at some of the current capabilities of these technologies, how to get the most out of them, and what we might expect in the future.
