Viessmann has introduced the Vitovolt 300 solar PV system to the UK.

The photovoltaic solution incorporates a modular package of accessories with a Viessmann ecosystem that can include sustainable heating and electric vehicle charging.

The Vitovolt 300 package is quick to install thanks to its plug-in solutions for electrical connections and fully wired matching components. Power storage can be added via a Viessmann-offered BYD Battery Box Premium with all the power flows of the PV and battery system able to be monitored through Viessmann’s Energy Management System.

The PV package is also ideal for use with a Viessmann heat pump, enabling households to generate electricity for use both as energy and heat, reducing running costs of the heat pump as well as energy costs for the entire home.

All elements are controlled via the Viessmann One Base control platform, which, via the Viessmann ViCare app, allows customers to view and optimise the use of their self-generated energy, whether it be for domestic electricity consumption, storage, heat or mobility.

Viessmann UK Director of Sales, Chris Johnson, said:

Recent increases in energy prices mean the financial case for solar is stronger than ever before. Plus, we’re using electricity more and more for heating and charging vehicles. The Vitovolt 300 offers a great foundation for UK homes to transition to renewable technology for heating and motoring. It’s a very attractive option for homeowners looking to reduce their reliance on energy companies while also increasing the sustainability and value of their property.

A typical Vitovolt 300 package provides a photovoltaic output of 4 kWp, producing around 3800 kWh per year.

Any unused power can be stored in batteries or exported to the grid. If combined with a battery, EV charger and heat pump, where 100% of self-generated power can be used by the household, a system this size can generate an annual electricity saving of around £1,140. This brings a return on investment for the solar PV system of around ten years. Larger packages offer greater savings, as well as sufficient electricity for bigger families and providing more power for heat pumps and electric vehicles.

Viessmann is exhibiting at InstallerSHOW 2023, which runs 27th to 29th June at the NEC. See the full list of exhibitors here: installershow.com/exhibitors.
