Wave 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) has been launched.
Application submission details will be available some time in October, according to BEIS.
The funding will support upgrading social housing stock that. is currently below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C up to that standard.
Wave 2.1 of the competition will allocate up to £800 million of funding to support the installation of energy performance measures in social homes in England.
All grant funding for Wave 2.1 projects must be transferred to the grant recipient and spent by 31 March 2025.

The SHDF funding is open to:
- local authorities
- combined authorities
- registered providers of social housing (including housing associations and arms-length management organisations (ALMOs) that are registered providers)
- registered charities that own social housing
All eligible organisations can apply directly to Wave 2.1 either as single bidders or as the lead of a consortium.
The above organisations, along with ALMOs that are not registered providers, can apply as part of a consortium led by an organisation that is eligible to lead a bid.
The competition will close to applications on 18th November 2022 and successful bids will be notified February/March 2023.
